DescriptionIn the 1960s and 1970s watercolor artist John Bohnenberger produced a series of works depicting Spanish style homes and business structures that reflected California’s early heritage. These were painted in a representational style. Some of them were painted on location and others were derived from photograph images. Occasionally those derived from photographs were taken to such a realistic extreme, they would be considered Hyper Realism works. This particular painting was most likely produced on location while viewing the subject matter. Up close it looks reasonably painterly, but when viewed from a few feet back it looks quite realistic. On View
