DescriptionCityscape street scenes were of special interest to California watercolor painter John Bohnenberger. A few were painted right on location, but most were inspired by photographs he took while traveling to San Francisco, Sacramento and other large cities. Usually, we moved things around, tiled buildings, and added subject matter to create a more interesting composition. In this work the rain soaked street reflects abstract colors and patterns. The viewer is looking straight into the light source, which means the shadows are falling into the foreground and creating additional abstract shapes.On View
