DescriptionArtist's Statement:"This painting is nothing like the actual photo taken in Russia. Originally, the warm-toned foreground fruits all merged together into a background of many other similar fruits. This was way too monotonous.
Solution: By adding a complimentary blue-green background with a red accent, and then bringing a small version of the background forward with an invented hand holding a diagonal iPhone, 'Double Take' turned out to be both a fun compositional redesign and a creative way to add an interesting story."
