DescriptionIn the 1930s, Wilshire Blvd. was transformed into a new style for the Los Angeles shopping area. Specifically, the area was built to accommodate the increasing use of privately owned automobiles. This watercolor by Gibson was reproduced on the cover of "Los Angeles Magazine" in the 1960s when Wilshire Blvd. merchants had obviously achieved their goal. Gordon McClelland, Curator
