DescriptionJoseph Emil of more commonly known as “Aim” Morhardt, lived the later part of his career as an artist in a remote area near Bishop, California along Highway 395. He was known for painting realistic depictions of open desert landscape subject matter. He painted with transparent watercolors and usually chose subject matter near his home, but occasionally he traveled to other areas in search of engaging landscape scenes. This work was painted on the edge of the Black Mountains, just east of Death Valley in the Death Valley National Park.On View
