DescriptionSuong Yangchareon was born in Thailand in 1952. He studied art in Bangkok and developed a special interest in the work of Richard Diebenkorn. He came to live in Los Angeles in 1974 and enrolled at Woodbury Institute, a small business school with a commercial art program. For a while he worked as a full-time photographer, while pursuing his great love of painting.Yangchareon began painting professionally in 1989 and is recognized for his vivid and yet desolate street scenes of Southern California. A trained photographer, he brings his pictures to the studio to produce his closely observed and accurately rendered paintings.
