DescriptionVelma Messick, the artist's widow, said this depicted a beach scene in the Belmont Shores section of Long Beach, near where the artist lived for many years. Ben Messick was a prolific print maker in the 1930's and 1940's. He drew most of his images directly onto Bavarian Limestone plates, from which prints would be made.
