DescriptionThroughout the 1970's, Bay Area watercolorist George Post taught watercolor painting classes in Mendocino. This is a beautiful coastal city along the Pacific Ocean, a few hours north of San Francisco. Post really enjoyed staying in this city and painted many watercolors inspired by scenes of that area. This work has less stylization than most of Post's art, probably because he was seeking to produce a more conservative style work and because the area is so calm and serene that he wanted to capture that feeling.
