DescriptionThis watercolor, painted to completion while outdoors on location, reveals Post’s ability to capture the essence of a very complex cityscape without putting in too much detail. His method of painting this type of view was to paint with his back to the subject matter, and then occasionally take a glance back to identify the key shapes defining the skyline. Only those brief images were added to his painting.
