DescriptionAt the time this was painted, Hardie and his wife Dorothy lived in the Silver Lake district, near where Hardie was working at Walt Disney Studios on Hyperion Avenue. Also nearby was Echo Park Lake, where many people went to picnic and spend time with their family and friends. This work, painted in the classic 1930s California Style of watercolor painting, captures the look and feel of one of those events.
