DescriptionSouthern California watercolor artist Hugh Duncan was a noted painter and avid sailor. During his art career, he produced a large number of sailing related works in the classic California Style of watercolor painting. He painted both in the studio and out on location. A number of his late 1950’s and 1960’s works were reproduced in popular magazine publications, produced for pleasure sailing enthusiasts. Sailboat racing was something Duncan greatly enjoyed and participated in. This work depicts a sailboat race off the coast of Southern California.
