DescriptionCalifornia artist Arthur Beaumont was an important American painter of maritime subject matter. This watercolor depicts the battleship USS Iowa, known as “the World’s Greatest Naval Ship.” This ship was, and is, honored for exceptional service to the USA in World War II and the Korean War. It is now a permanent floating museum docked at San Pedro in the L.A. Harbor.
