DescriptionChina Cove Is a small and secluded bayside community, located in Corona del Mar. It was named after an old house that was designed in a Chinese style of architecture and was prominently located in this cove right in front of a small stretch of sandy beach. This is an early watercolor by an artist who became a well-known American Illustrator in the 1970s, specializing in art that appeared on popular record album covers. Although he is best known for his hyperrealist airbrush paintings, Palombi started out painting California Style watercolors directly influenced by the teaching of Rex Brandt and Phil Dike.
