DescriptionIn the early 1930s California Style watercolor artist Hardie Gramatky was studying commercial illustration with well known commercial illustrator Pruett Carter. The classes were being held at the Chouinard Art School in Los Angeles. Carter stressed the importance of learning to draw the human figure and demanded that students include figures in their scene paintings and illustrations. This work shows Gramatky’s ability achieve those goals, while still in art school. On View
