DescriptionThis work captures the essence of China Town in San Francisco just before it became a center of tourism in that city. This artist was a trained illustrator and had his painting techniques, color pallet and especially his brush strokes well developed. The work was almost certainly produced to be reproduced, probably as a story illustration for some San Francisco Bay area publications.
