DescriptionWhen this artist retired from working as a commercial illustrator in San Francisco, he settled in the rural community of Sonora located in the Mother Lode region along the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He specialized in painting local scenes inspired by mining camps, rural towns and views of remote and scenic lakes and rivers. This work depicts a scene in that area. Gordon McClelland
