DescriptionChinatown, Los Angeles. The man is a lookout to watch for police. There was a gambling den on the other side of the door that he is sitting in front of. The artist also produced an etching of this basic image. The etching was reproduced in the Los Angeles Times along with an article about Dodge's paintings and prints of Los Angeles scenes.
