In addition to her long list of "fine artist" accomplishments, Rothe’s true local California artist success story is more than unique for the Museum attendees and celebrated patrons.
A local Laguna Beach artist, who grew up the daughter of a clothing designer to the stars, painting on silk making clothing for Hollywood movies and The Rolling Stones at age 14, to winning the Senior art contest at LBHS at 18 with a watercolor to winning top college scholarships from the Festival of Arts (who are interviewing her right now for a BIG article on my life and success for 2024) to fine art training at Laguna College of Art and Design to attending USD and UCI with degrees in Business and French Literature, with top honors throughout, who becomes a celebrated international fine artist, curator, lecturer, and editor/writer for today’s top fine art magazines with more than 18,000 followers. She was even honored to do a live demo at Christies Auction in Rockefeller NYC with pastels, during their Impressionist auction. Vanessa has worked for and with Disney Press locally in Burbank at an Art Director designing and co creating over 40 books with the Disney illustrators, an exciting point, which fits perfectly into your collection. In Zurich, Switzerland, and worked for 5 years as a graphic designer, illustrator, artist in advertising further honing her skills.
Rothe is most proud to have also created an 8 year ongoing fine art program “The Americans in Paris” that includes 45 of today’s top American Realists and Impressionists (as well as their patrons) that brings then to Europe to be inspired by new subjects, to study group composition, to glean knowledge from top museums and artwork, to paint together as the Impressionists did. She will be teaching alongside 3 of the nation’s top artists Charles W Mundy, Quang Ho, and Adrienne Stein this April 2024 in Paris and at a Chateau in Fontainebleau and will be landscape painting from Barbizon to Impressionism as well as lecturing in the Museums on art history. The American Friends of the Musée D’Orsay where she is a member, where they are currently speaking with her about doing a live demo for their group when in Paris April 21st, 2024.
Rothe has held leadership art positions as Chapter Chair of California Art Club, Educational Director of the American Impressionist Society for 4 years (creating their mission statement and numerous events) and was asked to be the Executive Director of Oil Painters of America. She has curated over 45 exhibitions and events in top galleries throughout the world and have sold thousands of my own fine art works from LA to Paris, to New York. All not a easy feat for a female Laguna Beach artist.
