BiographyJulius Milford Ellison (1909 - 1993) Born in Sioux City, IA on Sept. 16, 1909. Ellison studied at Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, Chouinard Art School, San Diego State College, University of Colorado, USC, and Mexico City College. After working as a commercial artist in Chicago, he came to San Diego in 1928 and worked as a freelance artist. He taught in the public schools from 1933 including Point Loma High School (1946), UC extension (1949-54, 1958), and Western University (1954-66). Ellison died in La Jolla, CA on Nov. 21, 1993.
