BiographyJohn B. Munroe (1900-1995) John Munroe was born in Donipan, Nebraska on July 28, 1900. He moved to Chicago in the early 1920's where he found work as a printer. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and at the Chicago Art Institute. He later studied with Frederic Mizen and Harold Von Schmidt.

After his studies he found work in the art department at Rand McNalley and was an artist for the National Safety Council for twenty years.

Munroe moved to California in 1957 and was in the art department at Douglas Aircraft until his retirement in 1965. After retirement he taught at the Arlington Art Center for eight years.
