Jae Carmichael

BiographyJae Carmichael (1925-2005) Born: Hollywood, CA; Studied: University of Southern California, Claremont College (California), Mills College (Oakland); Member: American Watercolor Society, California Water Color Society. Jae Carmichael studied art with; Francis de Erdely, Millard Sheets, Phil Dike, Dong Kingman and William Gaw. In 1953, she became a member of the California Water Color Society and has exhibited in the annual shows since that time.

In addition to painting and exhibiting her watercolors on a national level, Carmichael has produced sculpture, murals, oil paintings and films. She was a director of the Pasadena School of Fine Arts, president of the Pasadena Society of Artists and a director of the California Water Color Society. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Cinema at the University of Southern California.
