DescriptionAs a young child, living in Toronto, Canada, Shore saw her reflection, surrounded by nature in a puddle of water. That profound experience inspired her to become a painter. It is said that Shore’s paintings and prints influenced her close friend Edward Weston’s famous photographs. Her sailboats here, for example, are gracefully stylized as they tack back and forth in a decorative frieze across the paper, reduced to their basic elements. On View
