DescriptionArtmaking was in D’Usseau’s blood from the beginning. Born the son of one of the first art directors in Hollywood, D’Usseau would begin drawing at an early age. At age 15 he was awarded a scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. D’Usseau worked for eight years as a makeup artist for MGM before leaving the profession to pursue his passion: painting. This piece captures the kinetic energy of popular horseracing of the time, and the influences of Los Angeles Art Deco are unmistakable. On View
