DescriptionWhen this painting was produced, the privately owned Arroyo Seco Stables in South Pasadena was celebrating 80 years of business. Horse owners could board their animals at the stables and have access to riding them on trails through the Pasadena Arroyo. Los Angeles-based artist Ben Abril was known for producing scene paintings of local subject matter with some type of interesting history. He enjoyed painting outdoors on location with both watercolors and oil paints.
