DescriptionThis work was painted on location in Central California from a spot just off highway 395 between Lone Pine and Bishop. During that time Zornes was teaching watercolor workshops in Northern California and usually drove that particular highway route on his way to and from those engagements. On many occasions he commented on how beautiful that part of California was. The large bold shapes that represent the massive snow covered Sierra Nevada Mountains and sunlit foothills. Along with the sparse desert floor patterns of bushes and trees are signature elements of this era in the art career of Milford Zornes. On View
