DescriptionBy 1935 Jane Gale was living in Fresno, California where she painted and exhibited watercolors and worked as an art instructor. From the 1930's until the 1960's she exhibited in the annual California Water Color Society exhibitions and painted both abstract and representational works. This watercolor is a blend of these two approaches and represents the style of art she became known for. The bold, well-designed composition and the overlapping transparent washes are earmarks of her top works. On View
