DescriptionThis watercolor depicts the Member's Room in the Los Angeles Stock Exchange. Founded in 1889, the Exchange opened its new building, designed in the Art Moderne style with monumental bas-reliefs on the façade, in 1931 in the midst of the Great Depression. In 1956 it merged with San Francisco's Pacific Exchange to form the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange.On View
