DescriptionBy the 1970's Keith Crown was almost exclusively working with transparent watercolors on paper. By this time he was using wet into wet painting techniques to create bold patterns and colorful washes with fuzzy or lost and found edges. He was known for painting on location and for radically rearranging whatever he saw in order to suit his own personal sense of design, color and composition. His goal was to produce works of art that included recognizable subject matter, but were not limited to the way the scenes actually looked. "Coastal Factory" was inspired by an industrial site near El Segundo, California.
